We Need Volunteers!

Volunteers have many opportunities to help, some of their roles could be:

Patient and Family Care Volunteers
1. Friendly visits-support-reduce social isolation
2. Respite care for caregiver
3. Transportation assistance
4. Small homemaking tasks
5. Lawn care, or shopping
6. Run errands, write letters or read to the patient
7. Hair care, massage therapy, manicures
8. Phone calls, or final hours support

Bereavement Volunteers
1. Phone calls, visits or sending cards
2. Companionship, transportation
3. Assist the bereavement coordinator with tasks
4. Must be comfortable talking about death and dying
5. Dependable, compassionate, good listener
6. Provide support to patient and families
7. Possibility of working with grieving children
8. Make friendly visits, phone calls, notes to say "HI"
9. Participate with Camp Angel children’s bereavement camp
10. Support families before/after time of death

Office Volunteers
1. May assist office manager with various office tasks
2. May be assigned to work under disciplines(nursing, social work, chaplain)
3. Can answer phones, watch front desk during meetings

Special Project Volunteers
1. Speak to organizations about hospice
2. Assist with fundraisers or make crafts, lap blankets etc. or work on other projects as they arise
3. Bake or prepare food, snow removal, home maintenance projects
4. Help with memorial service or other events we have

Volunteer Chaplain
1. must possess exceptional listening skills
2. must be dependable
3. will provide comfort to terminally patients and their families
4. Will assist staff chaplain with different tasks
5. can be very flexible, volunteer as much or as little as you would like
